According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2024,in the ranking of the world's GDP in 1988, United States ranked first in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $5236.44 billion; Japan ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $3071.68 billion; Germany ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $1401.23 billion; France ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $1018.85 billion; and United Kingdom, with a total economy of $910.12 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
