According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2024,in the ranking of the world's GDP in 1979, United States ranked first in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $2627.33 billion; Japan ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $1055.01 billion; Former Soviet Union ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $901.62 billion; Germany ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $881.35 billion; and France, with a total economy of $613.95 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
