According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2024,in the ranking of the world's GDP in 1978, United States ranked first in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $2351.6 billion; Japan ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $1013.61 billion; Former Soviet Union ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $840.14 billion; Germany ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $740.47 billion; and France, with a total economy of $506.71 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
