According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2025,in the ranking of the world's GDP in 1976, United States ranked first in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $1873.41 billion; Former Soviet Union ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $688.53 billion; Japan ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $586.16 billion; Germany ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $519.75 billion; and France, with a total economy of $372.32 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
