According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2024,in the ranking of the world's GDP in 1973, United States ranked first in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $1425.38 billion; Former Soviet Union ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $617.78 billion; Japan ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $432.08 billion; Germany ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $398.37 billion; and France, with a total economy of $264.43 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
