According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2024, among the Southeast Asian countries in 1988, Indonesia ranked first in terms of gross domestic product(GDP), with a total economic volume of $84.3 billion; Thailand ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $61.67 billion; Philippines ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $43.15 billion; Malaysia ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $35.27 billion; and Vietnam, with a total economy of $25.42 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
