According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2024, among the OPEC countries in 1988, Iran ranked first in terms of gross domestic product(GDP), with a total economic volume of $123.06 billion; Saudi Arabia ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $88.26 billion; Iraq ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $62.69 billion; Venezuela ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $60.23 billion; and Algeria, with a total economy of $59.09 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
