According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2025, among the countries in Oceania in 1999, Australia ranked first in terms of gross domestic product(GDP), with a total economic volume of $389.1 billion; New Zealand ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $58.76 billion; French Polynesia ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $3.8 billion; New Caledonia ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $3.65 billion; and Papua New Guinea, with a total economy of $3.48 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
