According to the latest statistics released by the World Bank in 2024, among the European countries in 1997, Germany ranked first in terms of gross domestic product(GDP), with a total economic volume of $2211.99 billion; United Kingdom ranked second in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $1559.57 billion; France ranked third in terms of GDP, with a total economic volume of $1452.89 billion; Italy ranked fourth in terms of GDP, with a total economy of $1241.88 billion; and Spain, with a total economy of $590.08 billion, ranked fifth in GDP.
