According to the latest statistical information released by the Tibet Bureau of statistics in 2024, in 2019, the city with the largest economic size in Tibet was Lhasa, with a GDP of $9 billion; the city with the second largest economic size was Shigatse, with a GDP of $4.1 billion; the city with the third largest economic size was Changdu, with a GDP of $3.2 billion; the city with the fourth largest economic size was Shannan, with a GDP of $2.8 billion, Nyingchi City ranks fifth in economic scale, with a GDP of $2.5 billion.
