According to the latest statistical information released by the Tibet Bureau of statistics in 2024, in 2016, the city with the largest economic size in Tibet was Lhasa, with a GDP of $6.5 billion; the city with the second largest economic size was Shigatse, with a GDP of $2.9 billion; the city with the third largest economic size was Changdu, with a GDP of $2.3 billion; the city with the fourth largest economic size was Shannan, with a GDP of $2 billion, Nyingchi City ranks fifth in economic scale, with a GDP of $1.8 billion.
