According to the latest statistical information released by the Gansu Bureau of statistics in 2024, in 1996, the city with the largest economic size in Gansu was Lanzhou, with a GDP of $2.8 billion; the city with the second largest economic size was Tianshui, with a GDP of $0.9 billion; the city with the third largest economic size was Baiyin, with a GDP of $0.7 billion; the city with the fourth largest economic size was Jinchang, with a GDP of $0.4 billion, Wuwei ranks fifth in economic scale, with a GDP of $0.3 billion.
